The product came as described, but I would not recommend for anyone who is just learning the art of candle making. I am still new to the field and really struggled with how to use the hemp wick, get it to stay in a support and keep the wax from flaking and peeling as I trued to manipulate it for pillars and tapers.

Doesn't stand a chance outdoors in more than a slight breeze, but it's a nice alternative to wasting gas with the lighter. I do notice a less harsh smoking experience, though by how much I don't really know -- you can always hold the lighter flame (which is large) further away from the bowl to get a similar experience. Turns heads, as many people have never seen a wick.
